Flat. Always.On supplier cost only.

Supplier sends us an invoice. We send you that number plus twenty percent. That's the whole formula. There's no hidden side commission, no markup on the markup, no "design fee" on top. One line. Auditable.

What the 20% covers

Everything included.Nothing hidden.

Included in 20%
Brief review and workshop identification

Your Specialist reads the brief and identifies which workshops in the network are best suited to each piece. This is the core sourcing judgment.

Itemised sourcing plan

A written document with every piece, its workshop, the supplier price, the DAF fee, and the lead time — on the same lines. Sent before you sign anything.

Pre-production contract

A 3-page agreement covering every piece, the specification, the payment schedule, and the warranty terms. One document. One signature.

Pre-shipment production review

We request production photography from the workshop before dispatch. For larger or custom orders, we arrange a third-party inspection at the workshop before shipping.

Freight coordination

Logistics briefed and coordinated to your door. You receive a 4-hour delivery window 72 hours in advance. You don't manage freight.

Placed delivery + walk-through

Pieces are carried in, placed per the floor plan, and packaging is removed. Your Specialist or the lead installer walks every piece with you before the crew leaves.

Project record

A permanent document sent at delivery. Every piece, its workshop, its warranty contact, and the Lifeware schedule — yours to keep and reference.

Month 18 Lifeware review

Your Specialist reaches out 18 months after delivery. Remote assessment of condition and wear. No charge. No action required unless something needs attention.

Year 5 Lifeware review

In-depth review — physical condition, design refresh options, what to keep, what to replace. A written report. You decide what to act on.

Not included — and why
Interior design or mood boards

DAF sources what you specify. If you need full design direction, that's a different service — one we can refer you to.

Retail markups or catalog pricing

The fee is 20% of what the workshop charges us. There is no list price inflated before the 20% is applied.

Hidden logistics charges

Freight coordination is included. There are no shipping surcharges, handling fees, or delivery premiums added after the fact.

Warranty enforcement fees

If a piece needs a warranty claim, your Specialist files it. You don't contact the manufacturer. There is no charge to initiate a claim.

The short version

Supplier cost plus 20%. That's the total. No exceptions, no additions. The 9 above are what the 20% buys — from the first brief to the Year 5 review. The only additional cost is if you act on a Lifeware refresh, which generates a new order at the same 20% fee.

From the contract

Three clauses. The ones that actually matter to clients.

The full client agreement is 8 pages. Below are the three clauses most clients ask about first. The rest are available before you sign.

Article 4.1
Fee Structure
Contract text

The Service Fee shall be calculated as twenty percent (20%) of the Supplier Cost for each line item as confirmed in the Sourcing Plan. No additional charges, commissions, or markups shall be applied beyond the stated Service Fee. The Supplier Cost and Service Fee shall be itemized and visible to the Client in the Sourcing Plan prior to execution of this Agreement.

What this means

We charge 20% of what the supplier charges us. That's it. You see the number before you sign.

Article 2.3
Specialist Assignment
Contract text

DAF shall assign one (1) named Specialist to each Client Account. The assigned Specialist shall maintain primary responsibility for all communications, sourcing decisions, and delivery coordination for the duration of the engagement and any subsequent Lifeware enrollment periods. Client shall be notified in writing prior to any reassignment, which shall only occur in the event of Specialist unavailability.

What this means

One person handles your project start to finish. If that ever changes, we tell you in writing first.

Article 6.4
Lead Time Enforcement
Contract text

In the event that a Supplier fails to deliver within the Lead Time Band as specified in Schedule A, DAF shall apply the applicable Penalty Clause provisions to the Supplier Agreement. Any material delay exceeding seven (7) business days shall be disclosed to the Client within forty-eight (48) hours of DAF's awareness of such delay. Remediation costs arising from Supplier delay shall be borne by DAF, not by the Client.

What this means

If a delivery runs late, we tell you within 48 hours. Penalty clauses hit the supplier, not you.

The full DAF client agreement is available upon request before any brief is submitted. It is 8 pages. No surprises.

Common questions

Before you send the brief. Some things worth knowing.

Questions we get before the first brief. Plain answers — no marketing copy.

Supplier cost plus 20%. That's every line item in your contract — the price each workshop charges us, plus our flat fee on top. Nothing else is added. No hourly rate. No markup on markup. No logistics surcharge. The contract shows both numbers so you can verify at any time.

A real Specialist reads every brief the same day it's submitted. You'll hear back within 24 hours — usually faster. Not a bot. Not a queue. A person who will handle your project from brief to delivery.

We revise. The Plan is a proposal — you can edit any line before signing. If a piece doesn't work, we source an alternative at the same price point. You sign nothing until you're satisfied with every piece.

Any style. Budgets from around $8,000 and up — below that, delivery coordination isn't economical. We source from European ateliers, North American contract makers, and verified Asian workshops. Contemporary, traditional, maximalist, minimal — we find it.

Every DAF project automatically enrolls in Lifeware — our 5–10 year refresh program at no extra cost. Your Specialist stays on record. When the natural refresh window arrives, we contact you, review what you have, and build a new plan under the original contract terms. No new brief. No new fee structure.

Yes. Hotels, restaurants, offices, healthcare, education, civic — the same procurement model applies. Volume terms start at $35K: the service fee drops to 15% at $35K–$250K and 10% above $250K. One contract. One Specialist across every project.

Every piece in your contract includes a minimum warranty period, written in the document. If something is structurally defective or arrives damaged, we file the claim directly with the supplier and coordinate repair or replacement. You don't deal with the manufacturer.
